ARISE needs your help! It has been a busy time at ARISE as we work to get our charter renewed for another five years, our next batch of seniors through the college application process, and support a new group of students and the launch of our fifth year!
Oakland Unified School District Hearing on November 21st!
Please come show your support for renewing ARISE's charter at our public hearing on November 21st. In addition to our fifteen minute presentation, members of the public can submit speaker cards to express support for ARISE.
Mentors Needed!
As the college application deadlines approach, we are looking for people interested in attending one of our Mentor Nights to help students complete their CSU, UC, EOP, and private college applications. There are two events scheduled for the semester. The Mentor Nights will be from 5-8 pm on Tuesday, November 22nd, and on Tuesday, December 6th. Contact laura@arisehighschool.org for more information.
Fundraiser for Undocumented Seniors
The ARISE High Adelante Youth Leaders are hosting a fundraising dinner on Friday November 18th at the Eastlake YMCA in Oakland, CA. to support the senior class as they apply to colleges and this fundraiser will help cover their application fees. Undocumented students are not eligible for fee waivers and each college application is $55. Join us for a night of poetry, performances and fundraising so that ALL students receive an opportunity at an education. For more information, click HERE.
