ARISE is looking for credentialed teachers for the 2009-10 school year. There is still some flexibility in the exact positions that we are looking to fill because there are a number of different roles that we are building into our program for next year. We know that we are definitely looking for the following:
* A Math/Science teacher to teach both subjects to the same groups of students. Since teachers loop with their students, the exact content taught would change from year to year, usually in a two-year loop. Our ideal candidate would have credentials in both math and the sciences, or have the ability to get the additional supplemental credential easily.
* A Humanities teacher to teach both English and History to the same groups of students. Again, the exact content would change from year to year. Our idea candidate would be credentialed in both subjects.
* A Spanish teacher able to teach native and non-native speakers alike, in the same classrooms.
* Credentialed teachers interested in filling some of the following roles: internship coordinator, extended day coordinator, student intervention and support coordinator (including credit recovery), and assessment coordinator (both testing and performance-based assessment.)
