ARISE High School was just awarded initial accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) through June, 2012.  This is the most extensive accreditation that we could have been granted.  Among the findings, the committee recognized ARISE for our high attendance rate, our relationship with Laney College and the number of students who are receiving college credit, our Bridge presentations and use of portfolios in general, our cultural immersion experiences and parent and student satisfaction with ARISE and the evidence they provided of improved academic performance.  Some ares for us to work on include strengthening our internships and other project-based learning experiences to make learning more meaningful for our students, getting more students to acheive "mastery", additional support for teachers and administrative evaluations, further development of student leadership, and more physical education and extra-curricular opportunities.
