Jackie received her BA in English and Africana Studies from Princeton University, two MAs in Modern Thought & Literature and Education (respectively) from Stanford University, and she is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in cultural/social theory and educational anthropology from Stanford University. She has been teaching for 8 years in both small-by-design high schools and at the college level. She began her career teaching English at a private girl's school, The Greenwich Academy in Greenwich, CT and then moved on to teach various humanities and writing courses at Stanford University. For the past two years, she has been teaching at June Jordan School for Equity in San Francisco and at Community Partnerships Academy, a small learning community in Berkeley High School. She taught Humanities for the ARISE High School team last year and will be moving into a research-based position to complete her PhD in consultation with the ARISE Community. She will be taking a part-time role as the assessment coordinator and will be organizing a number of our school functions, such as Exhibition Nights.
