Submitted by laura on Tue, 2009-11-03 21:59.

Every student in ARISE's first graduating class will be a first-generation college student as well. Our twenty-two seniors are all busy taking challenging classes, including many community college ones, as well as doing extra work to make up missing credits if necessary and making sure that they are eligible for admission to the University of California system.  Helping them with their goals are a wonderful team of mentors who are working one-on-one with students, helping them with their personal statements and college and scholarship applications.
